New Release Round-Up (October 6, 2022)
Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development.
Manafinder is a pixel-art RPG inspired by classic JRPGs. It is set in the world of Aevi, which is roamed by powerful beasts. The humans who live there depend on manastones to protects their settlements, with Manafinders like protagonist Lambda risking their lives to find them. Medieval Dynasty is a simulation survival RPG set in Middle Ages Europe. Players control a young man who has fled from war and grows to be the leader of the local community while establishing their own dynasty. The game features crafting and town-building, skill trees, hunting and gathering, family interactions, trading and reputation systems, quests, and sandbox elements.
Action adventure RPG NieR: Automata is a distant sequel to 2010’s Nier as well as a spin-off of the Drakengard series. It follows YoRHa androids 2B and 9S as they fight for humanity against the machine invaders on Earth. The Nintendo Switch release, dubbed NieR: Automata The End of YoRHa Edition, comes with the game’s 3C3C1D119440927 DLC included, which adds new combat challenges and NieR Replicant-inspired costumes. Purgatory Dungeoneer, alternatively titled My Grandpa Died And All He Left Me Was This 1 Dungeon In Purgatory Filled With Nihilistic Adventurers, is a lo-fi roguelite town-building RPG. Players control the mayor of a supernatural medieval village next to a “psychic hellmaw”. The village is home to many adventurers and players recruit them to journey into the dungeon to collect resources to improve the town.
Rivalia: Dungeon Raiders
Rivalia: Dungeon Raiders is a comical action roguelite RPG. The game sees players controlling four heroes attempting to end the curse on the kingdom of Rivalia set by the demonic jester Ciceron. Players adventure through the procedurally-generated castle, transformed by Ciceron, switching between the heroes on the fly and creating new equipment using materials dropped by foes.
