Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development.


C.A.R.D.S. RPG: The Misty Battlefield

Roguelike deck-builder C.A.R.D.S. RPG: The Misty Battlefield is set on the continent of Mistaria, where its three great powers and ten smaller nations were caught up the Hundred Years’ War. The game follows Captain Vel Dina, who sets out to reveal the truth behind the subsequent rise of a great power. Players build their own deck from over 50 types of cards to take on enemies in turn-based strategic combat. The game features a map shrouded in mist, which players must explore to find enemies, facilities, and equipment.


Crown Wars: The Black Prince

Strategy RPG Crown Wars: The Black Prince is set in a fantasy version of 14th century-France during the Hundred Years’ War. Players assume the role of an individual that belongs to one of four French noble houses. In charge of their own domain, the protagonist must take part in violent conflicts that will determine the fate of the kingdom. The game offers a campaign consisting in sending troops in various locations of France to fight the opposing factions.


Evil Wizard

Action RPG Evil Wizard puts players in the role of a wizard who has been evicted from his castle and stripped of great part of his magical powers. It features pixel-art environments, while gameplay involves fighting a great number of enemies, avoiding traps, and solving puzzles. As the player progresses in the game, the Evil Wizard recovers parts of his powers that can be used to unlock new paths.


Neptunia: Sisters vs. Sisters

Platform: Xbox Series X|S (previously released on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch)

Neptunia: Sisters Vs. Sisters is an action RPG spin-off to the main Neptunia series that sees the four younger Goddess Candidates awakening to find that a new smartphone model, the rPhone, has taken over their share of the games market. Nepgear’s older sister Neptune is now missing, while Trendi Outbreaks cause large groups of monsters to appear.


Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

Platform: Nintendo Switch (originally released on Nintendo GameCube)

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is the second game in the Paper Mario series and originally released in 2004. It sees Mario hunting for treasures known as the Crystal Stars, with others looking to use the artifacts for their nefarious purposes. Battles are turn-based and require players to time button presses to increase their attack power and reduce damage taken.


Songs of Conquest

Strategy RPG Songs of Conquest has four different campaigns for players to experience, focusing on different nations. The game is inspired by 1990s strategy titles and sees players leading powerful magicians called Wielders, exploring a variety of maps while managing resources and expanding their kingdom.


System Shock Remake

Platform: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S (previously released on PC)

Originally released in 1994, System Shock is a sci-fi RPG set on a space station that has been taken over by the rogue A.I. SHODAN who seeks to destroy the human race. The remake is a ground-up rebuild of the game, featuring HD visuals, updated controls and UI, and remastered sound and music. Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord Remake

Originally developed by Sir-Tech, Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord is the first game in the first-person dungeon-crawling series and was initially released for Apple II in 1981. The remake is said to be built directly upon the game’s original code, with its original interface viewable to players. The game sees players using their own party of adventurers to journey through a labyrinth in search of an amulet stolen with the evil wizard Werdna.


Wuthering Waves

Platform: PC

Price: Free-to-play with in-app transactions

Wuthering Waves is an open-world action RPG. Players control a “Rover” who awakens in a world set a hundred years after a calamity as the survivors look to rebuild the ruins and restore the world of humanity.
