Dragon Quest Treasures Screenshots Showcase Draconia

Square Enix released new screenshots for Dragon Quest Treasures showcasing its setting of Draconia. The floating continent features a variety of islands that players will visit including the Paternoggin starting area, the sandy Maneland, the volcanic Cinderback Ridge, the plains and marshes of the Wingswept Moors, and the frozen Hinterquarters.

Each of the islands is served by train stations, which can be used freely by players after being repaired. There are many nooks and crannies to explore, while some also have shops with items, recipes, and crafting materials. In addition, players might encounter rare metallic monsters, which provide large amounts of experience when defeated, and some can be recruited. There are also rarer bejewelled monsters, which carry special treasure but move very quickly. Finally, strange balloons appear on the islands, and characters Shambles and Shady are offering rewards for bursting them.

Dragon Quest Treasures was originally teased as a new Dragon Quest Monsters game in 2018. The game follows siblings Erik and Mia — younger versions of the characters from Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age — who seek to obtain the seven Dragonstones. The game will release worldwide for Nintendo Switch on December 9, 2022.
