Loop8: Summer of Gods Heading West in 2023

XSEED Games and Marvelous announced that they are releasing Loop8: Summer of Gods in North America and Europe. The game, which is currently set to release in Japan later this year, will launch for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in spring 2023.

Loop8 is billed as a coming-of-age adventure, and sees Nini and his classmates attempting to defeat demonic creatures called Kegai, which have brought humanity close to extinction. Nini returns to one of humanity’s last sanctuaries, Ashihara, after being raised on a space station called Hope. His special “Demon Sight” ability allows him to reset to world, letting him and his allies relive their summer until they manage to defeat the Kegai or are completely defeated.

Ashihara is based on circa-1983 Japan and features various characters with secrets who may become allies or foes. The game is said to feature an emotion-driven AI system that sees characters stories and reactions change based on player choices. Its development team includes senior producer Yoichi Miyaji (Lunar and Grandia series), game designer Yuri Shibamura (Gunparade March, Touken Ranbu), character designers Shingo Adachi (Sword Art Online) and En Morikura (Kizuna Ai), concept artist Kitsuneiro (Amatsu Kitsune), mascot character designer Ryudai Murayama (Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin), and composer Noriyuki Iwadare (Ace Attorney series).
