Veil of Dust: A Homesteading Game Hitting Early Access This Week

Developer Calamity Bay Games announced that the Steam Early Access version of Veil of Dust: A Homesteading Game will be available on June 23, 2022. The initial Early Access version of the story-driven farming RPG will let players go through the game’s central storyline with Áine and includes one romance sub-plot. The game is expected to spend around a year in Early Access, with the full version also letting players control Áine’s brother Shane through his own storyline, as well as adding more romance options and other content.

Veil of Dust is set in Eastern Oregon in the 1860s and stars siblings Áine and Shane Callahan, whose journey to reach the Willamette Valley with their father ended prematurely. The siblings now seek to survive and build up their homestead while keeping Áine’s magical abilities secret. Veil of Dust includes farming, foraging, hunting, cooking, and crafting elements. Players will also engage in combat against magical monsters as they investigate the source of the creatures’ appearances.
