EarthBound, EarthBound Beginnings Available on Nintendo Switch Online

Nintendo has made both EarthBound and EarthBound Beginnings available as part of its Nintendo Switch Online subscription service. The games are available on the standard subscription option, alongside other NES and Super NES titles.

EarthBound, known as Mother 2 in Japan, was originally released for Super Famicom in Japan in 1994 and for Super NES in North America in 1995 before being later released internationally on Wii U and New Nintendo 3DS. The game takes place in the year 199X in the American-inspired country of Eagleland and follows a boy named Ness who investigates a nearby meteorite crash.

EarthBound Beginnings, released in Japan as Mother, originally released for Famicom in Japan in 1989. A Japanese Game Boy Advance release followed in 2003, with North America and Europe finally receiving the game through an international Wii U release in 2015. It takes place in the year 198X and follows a young boy who becomes involved in paranormal events.
