River City Girls PS5 Version Releasing This Month

WayForward Technologies announced that beat-’em-up River City Girls will receive a dedicated digital PlayStation 5 version on January 18, 2022. The PlayStation 5 version will include new DualSense features and Activities support with owners of the PlayStation 4 version able to upgrade for free.

River City Girls is a spin-off to the Kunio-kun brawler series starring Misaki and Ryoko, who set out to rescue regular Kunio-kun protagonists Kunio and Riki. It was originally released for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in 2019. Two related titles are also planned for release later this year: River City Girls 2 is a sequel adding Kunio, Riki, Marian, and Provie as playable characters alongside other features. River City Girls Zero is a Nintendo Switch port of Japanese-only Super Famicom title Shin Nekketsu Koha: Kunio-tachi no Banka.
