Square Enix provided new details for Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes Offline, its upcoming single-player version of MMORPG Dragon Quest X. The new information covers the game’s guest characters, original content, and the Spell of Restoration used with the MMORPG.

In addition to the regular party characters players will pick up in the game, they will be accompanied by temporary guest characters during certain parts of the adventure. There are over ten guest characters, and they will participate in battle while they are with the player.

Dragon Quest X Offline will also include its own original story episode. The episode features a brand new character and takes place in the past. It features a younger version of Himea as well as new character Garmy. Garmy is the daughter of Gamilgo, the Ogre tribe’s leader, and hates humans as a result of her father’s teachings.

Finally, Dragon Quest X Offline includes a Spell of Restoration feature. The ability is available at the church and unlocks once players have completed the main story campaign. It lets players begin a new character in the online version of Dragon Quest X with all job levels set to 70. Players can also choose to start their online story with its version 2 expansion content or from the start of version 1.

Dragon Quest X Offline will launch in Japan for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch in the summer of 2022. Its first expansion, The Sleeping Hero and the Guiding Ally, will follow in fall 2022. No announcement has been made regarding a possible western release for Dragon Quest X Offline.
