Multiple The Legend of Heroes Games Heading West

Developer Nihon Falcom held a 40th anniversary concert in partnership with New Game Plus Expo, during which NIS America announced that four titles in the developer’s The Legend of Heroes series will be released in North America and Europe. The first titles are the two games in the Crossbell saga, which will be released in the west under the titles The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero and The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure.

The Crossbell games were originally released in Japan following the Trails in the Sky trilogy and before the Trails of Cold Steel subseries, and take place around the same time as Trails of Cold Steel and Trails of Cold Steel II. They follow the exploits of the newly formed Special Support Section of the Crossbell Police Department. Fan translation group Geofront announced that it has partnered with NIS America for the game’s western localisation. The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero will be released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch in fall 2022, with The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure to follow for the same platforms in 2023.

NIS America also revealed that it is releasing action RPG spin-off title Nayuta no Kiseki in North America and Europe as The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails. The game is set around Remnant Island on a world known as Lost Heaven. Sometime in the past, the world suffered an event known as the Great Flood, leaving just the collection of islands surrounded by the Sciencia Sea. The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails will release for PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch in 2023.

Finally, NIS America announced that The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie, released in Japan as Hajimari no Kiseki, will release in North America and Europe for PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch in 2023. The game takes place shortly after the events of Trails of Cold Steel IV and features three main protagonists based in different parts of the continent of Zemuria.
