More The Caligula Effect 2 Gameplay Features Detailed

FuRyu provided some new Japanese screenshots and details about social networking-focused gameplay features in The Caligula Effect 2. The Causality Link is the game’s primary sidequest system. By talking to various characters around the virtual world of Redo, players can obtain and complete numerous tasks to further expand the Causality Link and collect rewards such as equipment.

Equipment is referred to as Stigma. There are three types of Stigma, with many of them including passive skills. By winning enough battles with Stigma equipped, the skill can be learned and equipped on its own without the Stigma.

Meanwhile, the player and their allies can communicate with the in-game WIRE app. Players will receive group chat messages concerning their current objectives, while in individual chats they can select responses and ask questions to grow closer to their allies. Players can also meet up with others in the Go-Home Club’s room, where they can spend money to obtain new Stigma or other items from χ (Chi).

The Caligula Effect 2 is a follow-up to The Caligula Effect, which later received an enhanced remake titled The Caligula Effect: Overdose. The game is set to be released by FuRyu in Japan for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on June 24, 2021, with NIS America’s western release scheduled for sometime in the fall of 2021.
