The Outer Worlds: Murder on Eridanos Releasing Next Week

Obsidian Entertainment and Private Division have announced that the second expansion to The Outer Worlds will launch for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on March 17, 2021. Murder on Eridanos sees players travelling across the floating islands of Eridanos, using the Discrepancy Amplifier to find clues about the murder of Rizzo’s Beverages spokesperson Halcyon Helen just prior to the launch of Spectrum Brown Vodka. The DLC can be purchased individually or as part of the Season Pass bundle that also grants access to the Peril on Gorgon expansion.

The Outer Worlds is co-directed by Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, two of the original creators of Fallout. The game features first-person exploration and combat, with players able to use “Tactical Time Dilation” to slow time down, as well as branching dialogue, a companion system, and a setting heavily influenced by player decisions. The Outer Worlds originally released in 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with a Nintendo Switch version released in 2020.
