Magic: Legends to Begin Open Beta in March

Publisher Perfect World Entertainment and developer Cryptic Studios have announced that their MMORPG Magic: Legends will undergo an open beta. The beta will be run through Arc Games and begin on March 23, 2021. In addition, a five-minute video introducing the game’s deck-building system and combat basics is viewable below.

Magic: Legends is based on the Magic: The Gathering franchise, with each player controlling their own Planeswalker in the universe. At launch, the game will include five classes — Geomancer, Mind Mage, Beastcaller, Sanctifier, and Necromancer — as well as 175 mana-based spells inspired by the original card game, 50 artifacts, 165 pieces of equipment, four planes, and five regions. The game is being developed for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One and will launch as a free-to-play title sometime in 2021.
