Monster Rancher 2 Remaster Coming to Japan

Koei Tecmo has announced a remaster of Monster Rancher 2 for Japan. The game will be released for Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android sometime in the fall of 2020. The remaster comes after one for the original Monster Rancher game last year on the same platforms.

Monster Rancher 2 was originally released in 1999 and sees players raising monsters to fight against other monsters. New monsters in the original game were summoned by inserting valid CDs. As the remaster will not have that capability, players will be able to instead search a custom database. The new release will also include bug fixes and ability for players to transfer monsters from the first game to the second on the same platform, while the Switch version will include local two-player battles.
