Nioh 2 Receives Story Trailer, DLC Info

Team Ninja released a new two-minute story trailer for its upcoming action RPG Nioh 2. The video shows numerous characters appearing in the game, which is set in a fictionalised version of 1555 Japan, as constant warfare leads to the land being infested by demonic yokai. Players control a yokai hunter who hides the fact they are a human-yokai half-breed. After losing control of their yokai power, the hunter is helped by and then teams up with a merchant named Toukichiro, who sells special Spirit Stones that allow their users communicate with yokai.

The developer also revealed its post-launch DLC plans for Nioh 2. There are three major pieces of DLC planned, each of which will look at a different story taking place prior to the events of the game. They will contain new characters, weapons, and combat abilities, and feature both main and side missions. The DLC will be included in the game’s season pass, which itself is included with Nioh 2′s Digital Deluxe Edition and physical Special Edition. Nioh 2 is set to launch worldwide for PlayStation 4 on March 13, 2020.
