Morgana Reports on Persona 5 Royal

Atlus has released the first in a planned series of videos titled “Morgana’s Report” for Persona 5 Royal. The Japanese video includes a look at some of the new content in the game including new characters Kasumi Yoshizawa and Takuto Maruki, the third school semester, and additions to the daily activity and Phantom Thief sections.

In addition to the video, the latest issue of Famitsu includes a preview that reveals some changes to the senior staff for Persona 5 Royal compared to the original release. Original director and producer Katsura Hashino is currently working on Atlus’ new Studio Zero’s debut title Project Re Fantasy. Persona 5 Royal is instead being directed by Daiki Itoh, who worked as lead confidant planner on Persona 5 and project director on Persona 4 Golden, while Kazuhisa Wada, who was not involved in Persona 5 but acted as chief designer on Persona 4 Golden and director on Persona 4‘s fighting and dancing game spin-offs, is Royal‘s producer.

Persona 5 Royal will be released in Japan as Persona 5: The Royal on PlayStation 4 on October 31, 2019. Atlus has already confirmed that the game will be released in the west as Persona 5 Royal in 2020.
