Level-5 Offers Yo-kai Watch 4 Info, Screenshots

Level-5 has released some new details and screenshots for the upcoming Yo-kai Watch 4. The information comes out ahead of the game’s appearances at the World Hobby Fair Winter 2019 taking place in Nagoya, Tokyo, and Osaka over the next month, where there will be a playable demo.

With the game featuring yo-kai from the Yo-kai Watch: Shadowside anime series, there will be yo-kai with familiar names like Jibanyan, Whisper, and Komasan, but they will have different, more sinister appearances. The game will see multiple worlds crossing over, with protagonist Keita (Nate) having to fight Shadowside‘s Mitsumata Nozuchi as some point in the game — this fight will be playable during the demo. In addition to controlling the human characters in the game’s new battle system, players will also be able to switch over and control the yo-kai in the party.

Yo-kai Watch 4 is currently planned for release in Japan on Nintendo Switch in spring 2019. Those looking to read more about the game can check out Sam Wachter’s impression from September’s TGS. No announcement had been made regarding a western release, but the previous game, Yo-kai Watch 3, is now available in Europe and set to be released for Nintendo 3DS in North America on February 7, 2019.
