Pokémon: Let’s Go Receives EGX Demo, New Legendary Pokémon Announced

Nintendo of Europe was present at last weekend’s EGX 2018 event in Birmingham, England, where it held a showcase for the upcoming Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!. The half-hour presentation showed off various elements of the game as the players character heads up to and goes through the game’s first gym.

Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon Let’s Go, Eevee! are due to launch worldwide for Nintendo Switch on November 16, 2018. The games blend a remake of Pokémon Yellow with elements from smartphone title Pokémon Go, with wild Pokémon now visible on screen before being encountered and these taking the form of Pokémon Go’s capture encounters rather than standard Pokémon battles.

In other Pokémon game news, The Pokémon Company revealed the existence of a new legendary Pokémon. Meltan, the Steel-type “Hex Nut” Pokémon, is only eight inches high and has a body made mostly of liquid metal. Meltan will appear in Pokémon Go, with that game being part of players being able to see Meltan in Pokémon: Let’s Go, though exact details have not been announced.
