Kickstarter Check-In: Boyfriend Dungeon

Moon Hunters developer Kitfox Games has begun a Kickstarter campaign for its newest title, Boyfriend Dungeon. The game is a dungeon-crawling action RPG where the player’s weapons transform into people, whom players can take on dates and grow their relationship with in order to become a more powerful fighting team.

The game features six weapons. Talwar, Dagger, Epee, Lasersaber, and Glaive all transform into humans, while the sixth, Brass Knuckles, transforms into a cat. Players can take their transformed weapons on dates to areas like the beach or a club and form bonds with multiple weapons with their customised character without gender restrictions.

Boyfriend Dungeon is set in Verona Beach, California, which hosts dungeons (or “dunj”) that are home to dangerous monsters. People earn money by venturing into the dunj. Each dunj features its own monster type and challenge, as well as potential dating spots.

The Kickstarter campaign has already passed its funding goal, and is set to finish on September 15, 2018. Boyfriend Dungeon is planned for release on PC, Mac, and Linux in late 2019, with those who pledge at least C$20 receiving a digital copy of the game as part of their backer rewards.
