NIS America Makes Anime Expo Announcements

NIS America has made several new announcements at the start of Anime Expo in Los Angeles. Three new RPG localisations have been revealed, with a couple of new trailers also released for previously-confirmed titles.

The first title revealed is The Princess Guide, previously covered as Anata no Shikihime Kyoudoutan (Your Four Knight Princesses Training Story). Released in Japan earlier this year, the game sees players controlling an experienced knight, tasked with training one of four princesses in real-time strategic battles. The Princess Guide is set to be released for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in North America and Europe in 2019.

The second announcement is for The Caligula Effect: Overdose. A ground-up remake of FuRyu and Aquria’s The Caligula Effect, which was released in North America and Europe in 2017 by Atlus, Overdose features redone UI, upgraded visuals, and substantial amounts of new content. A “Forbidden Musician” route doubles the length of the game’s scenario, and there will also be multiple endings, new Go-Home Club members, new musicians, new songs, and a selectable female protagonist. The Caligula Effect: Overdose will be released for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC (via Steam) in 2019.

The third and final new title in the batch of announcements is a console version of RPG Maker MV. Developed by Kadokawa Games and originally released for PC and Mac in 2015, RPG Maker MV is the latest in the series of RPG creation suites. RPG Maker MV is coming to Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 in 2019, along with a free RPG Maker MV Player app, which allows players to play other’s creations.

Finally, NIS America also released new trailers for Disgaea 1 Complete and Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk. An enhanced remake of the very first Disgaea game, Disgaea 1 Complete will be released in North America on October 9, 2018, and in Europe on October 12, 2018. Meanwhile, Labyrinth of Refrain is a dungeon-crawler where players summon various puppet soldiers to navigate the labyrinth and will be released in North America on September 18, 2018, with its European release following on September 21, 2018.
