Vampyr Release Looms

Dontnod Entertainment’s narrative-driven action RPG Vampyr releases tomorrow — June 5, 2018 — and the game’s publisher Focus Home Interactive has unveiled a launch trailer. The one-and-a-half-minute-long video gives a narrated overview of the game’s premise where doctor Jonathan Reid is turned into a vampire in London 1918 during the outbreak of Spanish Flu. Throughout the game, players can unlock new abilities for Jonathan at the cost of killing citizens. Discovering which characters to kill plays a significant role in how events occur within the game. Vampyr will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Currently working on my playthrough right now and the short story is that the writing and setting are pretty entertaining. The story plays out much like a detective mystery with occasional combat to break it up. Huge chunks of the game is talking to characters, learning about them, and then fattening them up.

I went ahead and bought it since I’m on the last chapter of yakuza 6. I’ll probably finish that today, and then start up vampyr.
