Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris Gets New Trailer, Update Info

Bandai Namco released a new story trailer for the latest Sword Art Online game, Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris. The video shows original character Medina, as well as newly playable characters Renly, Sheyta, and Sortiliena from the Sword Art Online: Alicization anime series, among others.

The company also revealed that the game will receive a series of free post-launch updates, including Daily Quests and Monthly Raids. By completing Daily Quests, players will earn tickets to exchange for CUBEs. These CUBEs can in turn be used to randomly earn in-game aesthetic rewards. The game will also include an in-game currency called SAO coins that can be used to purchase specific CUBE reward items.

Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris is being developed by Aquria, which previously created Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment and Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization. Alicization Lycoris is loosely based on the main light novel and anime series’ “Alicization” story arc that takes place in the “Underworld”, a virtual world where AIs act like humans. The game is set to be released on May 22, 2020, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
