Pearl Abyss Announces New MMORPGs

During the G-STAR 2019 trade show in Busan, South Korea, Pearl Abyss announced a number of new titles. The first of those titles is PLAN 8, a sci-fi shooter MMORPG where players utilise their own exosuits. The game will be coming to consoles and PC, though no release window was given.

The second title announced is monster-collecting MMORPG DokeV. The game is an open world title where players collect creatures known as dokebi, which gain power from people’s dreams. The game is being developed for consoles and PC, with a beta test expected in 2020.

The third title is action MMORPG Crimson Desert. The game was originally planned as a prequel to Black Desert, but has branched into its own IP set on the continent of Pywel in a fantasy world. The game centres on a group of mercenaries fighting to survive, with the trailer focusing on a mercenary leader called Macduff. Crimson Desert will have both single-player and multiplayer content and is being developed for consoles and PC, with a beta test expected in 2020.

The final title announced is Shadow Arena, which originated as a mode within Black Desert where fifty players fought against each other, with one emerging victorious. The arena fighter will include individual and team modes, and will receive a closed beta test on PC running from November 21, 2019, through November 24, 2019. Those interested in participating in the beta can apply through its official website.
