Tactical RPG Crystal in Carnations Announced
Developer Salmon Snake Games has announced turn-based tactical RPG Crystal in Carnations. The game is in development for PC and planned to release via Steam and itch.io at a price of $19.99. A demo is planned to arrive this winter.
Crystal in Carnations is set during the last year of a devastating war in the kingdom of Vivestria. Players choose from one of two main protagonists: Eloise, a young noble, and Willow, a conscripted commoner. The choice impacts both the story and combat; Eloise’s battles focus on formation and coordination as players move all units in tandem, while Willow’s battles focus on initiative and momentum as units individually act based on their speed. The game is said to include six unique endings, ten core party members with their own stories and progression paths, twenty-plus story chapters, extra challenge maps, and exploration gameplay between battles.
