Dark Turn-Based RPG Impious Receives Demo
Developer Flaman Studio has released a demo for its debut title, Impious. The game is a dark turn-based roguelite RPG set in an underground indoctrination centre. The demo includes the game’s tutorial and first floor, with multiple playable characters available, and comes ahead of a planned Steam Early Access release in early 2027.
Impious sees players embark on procedurally-generated runs through a facility hosting threats behind every door. Gameplay makes use of an impulse management system where players need to decide when to use impulses, which can increase skill power, add effects, spread their range, and more. It also includes a door system that displays the odds for each choice, a barter economy, and crafting with scavenged materials. Losing a fight doesn’t necessarily end a run, with the player character instead being corrected and re-educated, provided they hold onto some will.
