Fable Demonstrates Combat Gameplay

Following the video earlier this week focusing on a quest in the city of Bowerstone, Xbox Game Studios and Playground Games released more gameplay footage from the upcoming Fable reboot. The sixteen-minute video sees the player character joining Humphry on a quest that takes them through a mine and fog-filled forest, during which they face off against various undead foes using melee, ranged, and magic attacks.

Fable will release for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on February 23, 2027. Its version of Albion will be unconnected to the original series created by Lionhead. The game starts out with the player as a child before jumping forward in time to their adulthood at starting village Briar Hill, where an incident sees the village turned to stone. Setting out to try and reverse it, the players’ only clues are a mysterious stranger that they briefly witness, as well as a mention of Bowerstone and the Heroes’ Guild.
