2D Frog-Based RPG Amphibian Announced

Developer JARCORP Interactive has announced Amphibian, a turn-based RPG inspired by classic titles from the GameCube and Game Boy Advance eras. The game is in development for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, and is currently set to release in 2028. It is planned to support English, French, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, German, and Spanish language options.

Amphibian follows the frog Sapo and his allies as a countrywide drought forces them to fight against the toads and liberate their homeland. Players control a party of four frogs in turn-based combat, with each hero’s build able to be customised through a branching class system. The game is intentionally built with limited side content, including no shops, currency, or random battles, with players having to manage their health and resources to succeed. Its sound design is led by Shireen Ghosh (Sword of the Sea, Towerborne), with creative director Greg Alexandropoulos (frontman of the band Western Education) composing its rock-driven soundtrack.
