Code Vein II: Mask of Idris Expansion Announced

Bandai Namco has announced the Mask of Idris expansion for action RPG Code Vein II. The expansion, yet to be dated, will be available to purchase individually, or included as part of the game’s Deluxe and Ultimate Editions.

The Mask of Idris sees players exploring the Forsaken World, an alternate world generated by the converged pathos of worlds that vanished due to historical alterations. However, the core of the Forsaken World draws in emotions from all times and spaces, threatening to impact the real world. Its story sees players encounter Liv Voda, former guardian of the Temporal Rift. Taking place following the main game, players will need to reach the “Luna Fraterna” ending and complete the “Valentin’s Request” sub-mission to access the new story.

In addition, Bandai Namco announced that a free update will release alongside the expansion. The free Version 2.0 update will include additional content that lets players explore the post-main game world with their partner characters. More details are planned to be revealed at a later date.

A follow-up to 2019 action RPG Code Vein, Code Vein II is set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity’s existence is hanging by a thread. The sudden emergence of a threat known as the Luna Rapacis has seen Revenants — humans with supernatural abilities that come at the cost of severe bloodlust — transformed into creatures called Horrors. It sees the player travel back 100 years to the past with the assistance of a mysterious girl called Lou MagMell to try and rewrite the fate of the world. The game is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
