New RPG Maker Project Revealed

Gotcha Gotcha Games announced that it is working on a new entry in the RPG Maker creation suite series. The new project has not yet been named, but the teaser video indicates that it will include the ability for users to create games with 2D sprites in 3D-style environments akin to Square Enix’s recent HD-2D games and other similar titles.

The RPG Maker series has been in existence since 1992 and features numerous titles that let users create their own RPGs. The most recent PC title, RPG Maker Unite, was released in 2023 and is the first title to make use of the Unity engine, while RPG Maker WITH was released for Nintendo Switch in 2024 and PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in 2025.
