Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.0 Update Releasing This Week
HoYoverse announced that its version 4.0 update for free-to-play turn-based RPG Honkai: Star Rail will release on February 13, 2026. The update, titled “No Aha at Full Moon”, sees players arrive on a brand new world, Planarcadia. Known as Aha’s playground, it is said to be a place where “clout is supreme” and people “amuse themselves to death”. Players will also participate in the Phantasmoon Games, where they compete for the honor of becoming an “Aeon for a Minute”.
Planarcadia’s story is themed around the Elation and will take place across the next year. The planet is home to the Navigator Himeko and is also where the Astral Express restarted its journey fifteen years prior. Players arrive in Duomension City, where they first encounter the imagenae, creatures that live in symbiosis with the populace and are integrated into daily life. The imagenae rely on the Wishpower of the people to sustain themselves, and cease to exist if they are forgotten.
The update will add Yao Guang and Sparxie as new 5-star companions for players. In addition, limited 5-star characters Black Swan, Evernight, and Hysilens, will appear as first phase Warps, with Sparkle, Cerydra, and Rappa appearing as second phase Warps. The update will also include additional events and gameplay updates.
Honkai: Star Rail tells its own standalone story in the Honkai universe and is available on PC, PlayStation 5, iOS, and Android. The setting features Aeons, incarnations of universal principles that can freely travel between its worlds and apply their principles to them. Players embark on a journey on the Astral Express alongside other passengers looking to explore the universe and find out its secrets.
