Darkest Dungeon II: Curse of the Court Update Announced

Developer Red Hook Studios announced its newest update for Darkest Dungeon II. The “Curse of the Court” update will release for PC and Mac on August 28, 2025, with consoles to follow. The update adds the third and final Kingdoms adventure module to the game, introducing the Bloodsuckers enemy faction, which last appeared in Darkest Dungeon’s The Crimson Court DLC, as well as a new Curse mechanic.

A follow-up to the 2016 turn-based roguelike Darkest Dungeon, Darkest Dungeon II was released for PC in 2023 with PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch versions following in 2024. The game sees players tasked with guiding a stagecoach expedition across a decaying landscape to try and avert the apocalypse. It features a refined version of the previous game’s combat with a new Token System. Each failed run grants resources that can be used on upgrades for future attempts. The game also includes an affinity system between party members, and players can learn more about their heroes’ backstories.
