Tactical RPG Bloodgrounds Announced, Demo Available
Publisher Daedalic Entertainment and developer Exordium Games announced they are working together for the release of tactical RPG Bloodgrounds. The game sees players leading a team of gladiators as they plot revenge on the tyrannical Emperor. It is planned to release for PC via Steam later this year. A demo is currently available on Steam.
Bloodgrounds puts players in the role of a noble heir left in charge of the desolate coastal city of Marevento players manage the city by unlocking, constructing, and upgrading buildings while also recruiting, training, and commanding their own group of gladiators. Their goal is to reach the empire’s capital by advancing through the ranks of regional gladiatorial tournaments. However, any gladiator who falls in the arena (and their equipment) is lost forever.
Players can recruit new gladiators from different classes using different methods. Between battles their gladiators can be equipped, healed, and trained. Players can also use powerful Deity abilities to assist them in battle, or undertake actions such as making a deal with a local crime lord to sabotage their opponents. Combat takes place on a square grid, with units acting in order of initiative. During their turn units can spend their action points to use weapon or class abilities, items like potions and scrolls, or set traps.
