Baldur’s Gate III’s Final Major Update Out Now
Larian Studios has released its Patch 8 major update for Baldur’s Gate III. Planned to be the final major update for the game, it includes twelve new sub-classes, one for each of the game’s main classes, as well as full cross-platform play and progression between its PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S versions. It also adds a new Photo Mode and an update for the Modding Toolkit that includes partial level editing. The full list of new sub-classes is below, with the full patch notes available here:
- Bard: College of Glamour
- Barbarian: Path of Giants
- Cleric: Death Domain
- Druid: Circle of Stars
- Fighter: Arcane Archer
- Monk: Way of The Drunken Master
- Paladin: Oath of the Crown
- Ranger: Swarmkeeper
- Rogue: Swashbuckler
- Sorcerer: Shadow Magic
- Warlock: Hexblade
- Wizard: Bladesinging
Baldur’s Gate III features turn-based combat based on the fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons ruleset. It takes place over 120 years after the events of Baldur’s Gate II and its story begins with the player character and others captured and forced to host a Mindflayer tadpole before the airship they are on crashes.
