Samurai Pizza Cats: Blast from the Past Announced
To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the original animated series, publisher Red Dunes Games and developer BLAST ZERO have announced Samurai Pizza Cats: Blast from the Past. The game is an action adventure platforming RPG based on the sci-fi action comedy show that first aired in Japan in 1990 as Kyatto Ninden Teyandee. It is in development for “all major platforms” and does not currently have a release date, but is available to wishlist on Steam.
Samurai Pizza Cats: Blast from the Past takes players back to Edoropolis/Little Tokyo, which is populated by cybernetic anthropomorphic animals. Players swap between members of the Pizza Cats, solving puzzles and engaging in battles. The game features reunited voice actors in both English and Japanese, with the English dub including Rick Jones (Speedy Cerviche), Sonja Ball (Polly Esther), Terrence Scammell (Guido Anchovy, Narrator), and Dean Hagopian (Seymour “The Big” Cheese), while the Japanese dub includes Kappei Yamaguchi (Yattarou), Ai Orikasa (Pururun), Ikuya Sawaki (Kitsunezuka Ko’on-no-Kami), Naoki Tatsuta (Karasu Gennarisai), and Kenyu Horiuchi (Narrator) with Seiichirō Yamashita joining the cast as Sukashii.
