Baldur’s Gate III Patch 8 Teased

Larian Studios provided some early details for its upcoming Patch 8 update for Baldur’s Gate III. The update is planned to release in early 2025 for PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Highlights of the update include full cross-platform progression as well as cross-play across platforms, a new subclass for each of the game’s eight classes, and a new photo mode. A period of stress testing for the update is planned for January 2025.

Baldur’s Gate III features turn-based combat based on the fifth edition Dungeons & Dragons ruleset. It takes place over 120 years after the events of Baldur’s Gate II and its story begins with the player character and others captured and forced to host a Mindflayer tadpole before the airship they are on crashes.
