Caves of Qud Finally Approaches Full Release

Publisher Kitfox Games and developer Freehold Games announced that after fifteen years in development, the full 1.0 version of Caves of Qud will release on December 5, 2024. The full release version of the game — which has been in Early Access since 2015 — will be available for PC, Mac, and Linux via Steam, itch.io, and GOG.com, priced at $29.99. The current $19.99 Early Access price will be increased on October 29, 2024. A Dromad Deluxe edition will be available for the game that includes the digital soundtrack and the Pets of Harvest Dawn DLC pack.

Caves of Qud is billed as a science fantasy RPG with deep simulation aspects. Players create their own character with over seventy mutations and dozens of cybernetic implants available allowing players to fly, teleport, hypnotise goats, swap bodies with a robot, and more. The game includes over seventy factions, while all monsters and NPCs are fully simulated with their own levels, skills, equipment, faction allegiances, and body parts. It includes the Classic roguelike mode as well as friendlier Roleplay and Wander modes.
