I live in a country where the MSRP of the PS5 Pro is $960, and that’s without adding on the disc drive or sales tax which would bring the end price north of $1200. In short: no. In long, HELL no.
I bought a gaming PC for $900 a couple months ago. It plays what I want to just fine, but I’m more a single-A gamer. HD is fine, 4K is pointless with my vision. Until a Dragon Quest game is exclusive to PlayStation again, I ain’t buying another Sony console.
Nope… I didn’t even get the regular PS5 when it came out. Making the jump to a PC gaming rig and now seeing the numerous Sony titles coming to PC makes me think I made the right choice. If you’ve got a large backlog of games and are patient enough to avoid falling for FOMO, then I can’t really see much of a reason to get the PS5 Pro.
I still have a working base model PS4, a launch model Xbox One, a Nintendo Switch, and I now also have a Steam Deck that can play so much. There’s no incentive for me to even entertain the idea of getting a PS5 Pro. No console is worth the amount of money they’re charging for it.
I have a slight interest in the system, since I have a good tv that should be able to take advantage of the system. I do wish that it was not $800+ to get it. Do you think that the high scalping price’s influenced this price?
