Touhou Spell Carnival Coming West This Year

Idea Factory International announced it is releasing Compile Heart and Sting’s Touhou Spell Carnival in North America and Europe. The tactical RPG, released in Japan last month, will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch later this year. The western release will feature Japanese audio with English, French, and Spanish subtitles. Physical Standard and Limited Editions will be available, with details to be announced at a later date.

Touhou Spell Carnival takes place in the Touhou series’ regular setting of Gensokyo, a land isolated from the outside world where humans and yokai reside. The game sees shrine maiden Reimu Hakurei drawn into a festival to battle for shrine cards and discover the purpose behind mysterious pillars that have appeared across the land. It features bullet hell elements within its gameplay.
