Touhou Spell Carnival Gets Western Release Date

Publisher Idea Factory International announced the release dates for Touhou Spell Carnival in the West. The strategy RPG will launch physically and digitally on November 19, 2024, in North America for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. It will release digitally in Europe the same day on the same platforms, with a European physical release planned for December 3, 2024.

A Digital Deluxe Edition will be available for purchase on launch day for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch in North America and Europe. It will include a digital copy of the game, 57-page digital art book, and 49-pieces digital soundtrack. Those purchasing the Digital Standard Edition or Digital Deluxe Edition within the first two weeks of the game’s launch will receive the “Gensokyo Safe Adventure Pack” DLC, which comes with some pieces of equipment and consumables.

Touhou Spell Carnival is a tactical RPG that takes place in the Touhou series’ regular setting of Gensokyo, a land isolated from the outside world where humans and yokai reside. The game sees shrine maiden Reimu Hakurei drawn into a festival to battle for shrine cards and discover the purpose behind mysterious pillars that have appeared across the land. It features bullet hell elements within its gameplay.
