Touhou Spell Carnival First Details, Media Revealed

Developers Compile Heart and Sting have released the first details and screenshots for their upcoming Touhou tactical RPG Touhou Spell Carnival. The game revolves around a 30-day spell card battle involving various characters from the Touhou series and features bullet hell elements within its gameplay. It is in development for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch, and is planned to release in Japan in spring 2024.

Touhou Spell Carnival takes place in the series’ regular setting of Gensokyo, a land isolated from the outside world where humans and yokai reside. Shrine maiden and protagonist Reimu Hakurei spots pillars rising across Gensokyo, which signify the start of a festival where participants battle for spell cards. The other main character revealed is magician Marisa Kirisame.
