Touhou: New World Receives New DLC
Publisher XSEED Games released a new DLC for Ankake Spa’s action RPG Touhou: New World. The DLC, titled Gensokyo Dreaming, comes with a new storyline, new stages, and new playable characters. It is available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch for $9.99. A bundle including the DLC and the game is priced at $31.49 on the PlayStation Store and $31.48 on the Nintendo eShop and Steam.
Gensokyo Dreaming‘s storyline sees psychic Sumireko Usami traveling across Gensokyo to gather allies and face the evil spirit Mima. As the story progresses, the player will be able to control Sumireko Usami as well as seven other characters from the Touhou Project universe: Koishi Komeiji, Reisen Undongein Inaba, Youmu Konpaku, Remilia Scarlet, Sakuya Izayoi, Flandre Scarlet, and Yukkuri Reimu. Players’ bullet-dodging skills will be put to test through new stages such as the tops of trains and an abandoned space station.
Touhou: New World is a new doujin title based on the shoot ’em up franchise set in the world of Gensokyo, which is home to humans and youkai spirits. The game sees the boundary between Gensokyo and the outside world being breached, with Reimu Hakurei and Marisa Kirisame setting out to discover why. The game features top-down action combat with enemies able to unleash fountains of projectiles. Players can level up skills and upgrade their health and other attributes while customising Reimu and Marisa to suit their playstyle. Each piece of equipment comes with randomised stats, with players able to mix and match what best suits them or reforge it.
