Tako no Himitsu: Ocean of Secrets Begins Kickstarter Campaign

Developer Deneos re-revealed Tako no Himitsu: Ocean of Secrets, beginning a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for the pixel action RPG. The game will be coming to PC and Nintendo Switch with a planned 2026 release window, while a one-and-a-half-hour demo is available now via Steam.

Tako no Himitsu: Ocean of Secrets is a spiritual successor to adventure title Save me Mr Tako and takes place in a world that has experienced centuries of peace after the last war between humans and octopuses. However, wild animals are disappearing while shadow voids emerge alongside the rise of the Temple of the Order. Players control and follow the stories of six different characters, each with their own unique abilities. Players can also befriend and train magical octopuses and participate in strategic real-time combat. It is planned to include music from Motoi Sakuraba (Golden Sun, Tales series) and Masanori Hikichi (Terranigma)

The Kickstarter campaign is seeking €50,000 in funding and is set to run until August 9, 2024. Those who pledge at least €18 will receive a digital PC copy of the game as part of their backer rewards.
