Metaphor: ReFantazio Shows More of Its Story at Anime Expo

Developer and publisher Atlus released a new trailer and video showcase for its upcoming RPG Metaphor: ReFantazio as part of its appearance during Anime Expo 2024. The over-twenty-minute-long showcase, viewable below, reveals more details about the game’s story, which includes some spoilers for the early parts of the game.

Metaphor: ReFantazio is created by the team behind Persona series and is set in the United Kingdom of Euchronia, which is made up of three constituent countries populated by eight different tribes. Following the king’s assassination, a special spell is cast that announces a tournament for the throne, where the person who has earned the most faith of the citizens as of the October Day of the Hero will be granted the throne. The protagonist, joined by the fairy Gallica, takes part in this contest while on his own journey to lift the curse that befell the crown prince ten years prior.

Metaphor: ReFantazio will release on October 11, 2024, for PC (via Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Physical standard and Collector’s Editions are available to pre-order now.
