Death end re;Quest: Code Z Gets New Trailer

Developer and publisher Compile Heart released a new trailer for its upcoming RPG Death end re;Quest: Code Z. The five-minute video, viewable below, showcases the main cast, snippets of gameplay, and the Limited Edition of the game available in Japan.

Death end re;Quest: Code Z features different gameplay to its predecessors, using turn-based roguelike combat and exploration with various terrains, enemies, traps, and more. The game revolves around the entity Iris and a multiple worlds concept. Iris was born in “DE-1 World”, which resembles 2000s Earth. After that world entered a spiral of tragedy, Iris created a replica known as “DE-1.5 World” and set it up to be more idyllic. However, a new threat emerges and sees new protagonist Sayaka Hiwatari facing chaos involving friends and foes. It will have a mixture of returning and new characters, with its story connecting to the previous titles and is said to contain significantly more gruesome events and character death scenes than previous titles.

Death end re;Quest: Code Z is set to launch in Japan on September 19, 2024, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. Publisher Idea Factory announced that it will be releasing the title digitally and physically in North America and Europe in 2025, with its own Limited Edition planned.
