Atlas Fallen Becomes Atlas Fallen: Reign of Sand in August

Publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Deck13 announced that their action RPG Atlas Fallen will receive a free major update. The update — titled Reign of Sand — will launch on August 6, 2024, for all platforms. With the release of this update, the game will be renamed Atlas Fallen: Reign of Sand and will come with an expanded world, a reworked campaign, a revamped progression, new enemies, new quests, quality-of-life improvements, and more. The companies highlighted that the update will also offer new voice acting from actors like Ben Starr (Final Fantasy XVI, Warframe) and the addition of a New Game Plus mode as well as a Nightmare difficulty option.

Atlas Fallen is set in a timeless, sand-filled land with a semi-open world. After finding a special gauntlet artifact, players are tasked with fighting back against the oppression laid out across the people of Atlas in the name of Thelos the sun god. The game is playable in both single-player and two-player cooperative modes. Atlas Fallen is currently available on PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Fascinated by the screens since I saw them, video games are a sorcery I quickly become obsessed with. This passion culminated with the discovery of the RPGs. At that time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as more as gameplay. Now, I am, writing about them, especially my favorite ones: the JRPGs!
