Capes Showcases Mercurial and Weathervane

Developer Spitfire and publisher Daedalic Entertainment released two new trailers for their upcoming superhero tactical RPG Capes. The two trailers introduce the heroes Mercurial and Weathervane. Mercurial is a woman gifted with incredible speed. She is an expert in martial arts and street fighting who joins the Capes to prevent her capture by The Company. Weathervane is a former football player capable of manipulating both lighting and wind. Now part of the Capes, he wants revenge on The Company for experimenting on him.

Capes will release on May 29, 2024, for PC, Mac, and Linux (via Steam, GOG.com, Epic Game Store), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, with pre-orders and wishlisting available depending on the platform. The game will be available in two editions: Standard and King City. The King City Edition comes with alternate hero skins and a 50-page art book.

Capes is the debut title from Spitfire Interactive, a studio set up by key members of Hand of Fate series developer Defiant Development. The game is set after supervillains emerged victorious and turned the city into a dystopia where developing superpowers is considered a crime, with an organisation called The Company tasked with apprehending these new criminals. However, a new generation of heroes is ready to try and fight back. Players recruit and train heroes while taking on missions across the city, as well as learning the histories behind the various heroes and villains in the game.
