Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail Benchmark Available Soon

During its 10th Anniversary 14-Hour Broadcast for Final Fantasy XIV, Square Enix held its latest Letter from the Producer presentation for the MMORPG. The presentation, hosted as usual by Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida with Global Community Producer Toshio Murouchi, revealed that the Benchmark application for Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail will be available from 12am Pacific on April 14, 2024. The Benchmark will allow players to test the PC specifications and settings, and also try out the character creator with the new female Hrothgar race option, with the Benchmark trailer also released.

The presentation, viewable in full here but only available in Japanese with a few English presentation slides, also provided a preview of the major graphical upgrade set to be released alongside the expansion. It also covered improvements to the game’s blacklist and privacy options.

Taking place after the events of Endwalker, and marking the start of a major new story arc for the game, Dawntrail is set in the “new world” of Tural, a continent on the other side of the ocean known as the Indigo Deep. It sees Warrior of Light’s help requested for Tural’s contested rite of succession. The expansion will add two new Jobs: melee DPS role Viper and ranged DPS role Pictomancer. The expansion will also include a new level cap of 100, new dungeons, new locations, new side content, and more. Further details about the expansion’s contents can be found in RPGamer’s coverage of the keynote presentations during the Las Vegas, London, and Tokyo Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fests.
