Darkest Dungeon II Coming to PlayStation Consoles

Developer and publisher Red Hook Studios announced that Darkest Dungeon II will be available on PlayStation consoles. The turn-based roguelike RPG is set to release on July 15, 2024, for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, with pre-orders currently available. The base game, the DLC The Binding Blade, and the Oblivion Edition (containing the base game and DLC) will be available with cross-buy across both consoles.

A follow-up to 2016 turn-based roguelike Darkest Dungeon, Darkest Dungeon II sees players tasked with guiding a stagecoach expedition across a decaying landscape to try and avert the apocalypse. The game features a refined version of the previous game’s combat with a new Token System. Each failed run grants resources that can be used on upgrades for future attempts. The game also includes an affinity system between party members, and players can learn more about their heroes’ backstories. Fascinated by the screens since I saw them, video games are a sorcery I quickly become obsessed with. This passion culminated with the discovery of the RPG. At the time, they were likely the sole titles where story and world building mattered as more as gameplay. Now, I am, writing about them, especially my favorite ones, the JRPG!
