Welcome to RPGamer’s new release round-up. In this column we look to provide our readers with details on all of the RPGs released over the week. Please note we do not currently include Early Access releases where the game is still in development.


Evering

Turn-based pixel art RPG Evering follows Eldar, Prince of Onnya, who is obsessed with finding the origin behind a particular legend. He is joined by overprotective witch Lue, mysterious wanderer Jövla, apprentice alchemist Laric, and artist Qibayn. The game had been in Early Access since 2020.

Ex Astris is a sci-fi RPG that sees players venture to the planet of Allindo as an investigator from Earth. The planet is split into two hemisipheres by a massive storm band known as Zin-Gerzen, with one hemisphere in perpetual day and the other in perpetual night. It features a hybrid real-time and turn-based combat system.


Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth acts as the second part of the planned Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, picking up immediately after the events of Remake and the party’s escape from Midgar. Pecaminosa: A Deadly Hand is a “definitive edition” release for the noir action RPG. It includes the base game plus its free La Soirée DLC epilogue, and is available as a free update for those who own its original PC and Switch versions. The game puts players in the role of disgraced detective John Souza, who is one day visited by the ghost of mob boss Charlie “Two Angels”, and tasked with helping him capture his former associates in a bid to get Charlie into Heaven.


Robin Hood: Sherwood Builders

Robin Hood: Sherwood Builders is a mixture of action adventure RPG and base building. The game puts players in the role of the medieval English folk tale hero as they fight, hunt, craft, steal, and help the local people to spite the ruthless Sheriff of Nottingham. Players build up their camp in the game’s open environment, with other characters such as Lady Marian, Little John, Friar Tuck, Allan-a-Dale, and Will Scarlet also appearing.


Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island

Known in Japan as Shiren the Wanderer 6, roguelike RPG Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island sees Shiren and his trusted ferret companion Koppa adventure on the eponymous island, where he is joined by his friend Asuka and supported by innkeeper Suzuna. Each time Shiren enters one of the procedurally-generated dungeons, he starts at level 1 with any gear and levels he obtains being lost if he collapses during exploration. Tamarak Trail

Dice-building roguelike Tamarak Trail features turn-based combat that makes use of customisable dice. Rolling dice determines the player’s potential actions each turn, which include direct attacks, damage over time, buffs, debuffs, and defence. As players progress, they can apply newly-gained abilities to individual sides of each die. The game features three playable characters, members of a secret society named the Eye of the Sturgeon, who set out to uncover the mystery and source of the corruption plaguing the world.


The Witch of Fern Island

Sandbox life sim RPG The Witch of Fern Island follows Abrill, a young girl seeking to become a certified witch by passing her academic internship. She lives on the island, leaning about its inhabitants, three distinct cultures, and a spirit world called Astra. The game had been in Early Access since 2023.
