Sword of Convallaria Launching on PC, Mobile Later This Year

China-based developer XD Games released a new trailer for its fantasy tactical RPG Sword of Convallaria. The 90-second video introduces the game’s characters and themes, including player choices, as well as its pixel-based graphics. The game is planned to release internationally as a free-to-play title on PC, iOS, and Android in fall of this year.

Sword of Convallaria is billed as inspired by titles such as Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy Tactics. The game is set on the continent of Rodinia, and begins in the nation of Iria, which is rich in magical minerals called Luxite. After waking in a dungeon, players head to the town of Convallaria, which is under threat from neighbouring conflicts, and become leader of a mercenary group navigating various factions and choices.

Sword of Convallaria features a grid-based tactical combat system and a variety of heroes and companions to recruit. The game is said to include 300 different battle maps and 1,000 potential stages with multiple endings available to unlock. It features music contributions from Hitoshi Sakimoto, as well as Japanese voice acting.
