Librarian-Themed RPG Book of Hours Releasing in August
Developer Weather Factory announced that its librarian-themed RPG Book of Hours will release on August 17, 2023. The game will be available for PC, Mac, and Linux through Steam and GOG.com, priced at $24.99/£19.99.
Created by the team behind Cultist Simulator, Book of Hours is set in a version of the 1930s filled with hidden gods and secret histories. Players control a new recruit brought in to fill the position of the Librarian of Hush House, which was a fortress of knowledge until a fire ruined its collection. Becoming the new Librarian, players are tasked with rebuilding the library by acquiring, restoring, and cataloguing occult books, scrolls, and curiosities, as well as guiding visitors and their stories down various paths.
The game features nine different starting legacies, such as the Magnate, Archaeologist, or Symurgist, with each role’s playthrough said to take 20-40 hours. It also features text-driven “narrative crafting” mechanics, hand-drawn art, and 101 different endings.
